Here is the final slideshow of memories of your time in school....
Here is a slideshow video from Senior Infants. We played this for parents just before our Senior Infants show way back in 2014.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Class of 2020 will spread their wings and graduate next week.
While it's disappointing for all concerned that we cannot be together in school at this time, the Class of 2020 has already proven it can break the mould in these past few weeks.  They will do so again on Thursday 18th June with our first ever online graduation!

Both Ms Mullen and Ms McBride have been working hard on the presentation. They have organized an evening to remember for each of the boys and we are really looking forward to meeting you all there.
I am extremely grateful for your support for this venture, for with the photos and videos which you have sent in, along with all your heart warming and supportive emails.

And now we have one more favour to ask:
To mark your son's graduation from Sixth Class we have made up Graduate Gift Packs for each of the boys. Our great PA and our BOM have donated Class Photos and T Shirts for this pack. It will need to be collected from the school, however.  And we will also need the return of the books from the PA Book Rental scheme at this time.

So, on Friday 12th June from 6-8pm parents of Sixth Class only can drive onto our school grounds to collect the Graduate Gift Pack and return Book Rental Books.

We know from previous years that many parents of Sixth Class like to offload primary school books at this time and we are happy to accept any primary school books provided they are in excellent condition.
To help our operation run smoothly please have the books bagged, and labelled with your son's name. We will collect the books from your car and hand out the Graduate Packs at the same time.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Ms Cepta Burke ( Príomhoide)

6th Class Graduation
The 6th Class Graduation Ceremony will be held online using the Zoom App.
It will be on Thursday the 18th of June at 7:30 pm. We will send parents
an email that week with the link and  the password to the meeting and a
general outline of the ceremony etc.

Before this we need your help. We need two things
  1. A photo of you on your first day of school in Junior Infants. It's okay if you started in a different school, we still want your picture.
  2. We want a short 3-5 second LANDSCAPE video of you catching a ball that has been thrown in from the left of the screen (as the viewer looks at it). You catch the ball, pause for 1-2 seconds, looking at the camera and then throw / kick the ball off to the right of the screen. When we put all the videos together it should look as if each boy is throwing his ball onto the next person. Well that's the idea. Hopefully it will work.
We need them before Wednesday the 20th of May. Email to 6thdonacarney@gmail.com

The work we assign every week is just a suggestion, we're very aware that everyone's circumstances are different and circumstances can change from week to week. You can only try your best but please do make an effort to engage with the work. This work is designed to help and support you in preparation for secondary school.

Keep an eye on the competitions page for our weekly competitions and winners. The answers to maths work and Irish grammar is uploaded daily onto the answers page.

Ár ndícheall i gconaí,
Ms. McBride

Hello Boys!

I hope that you and your families are keeping safe and well and managed to enjoy your Easter Break. We were so lucky with the weather so I hope you were all able to get outdoors and make the most of it (while socially distancing and staying within 2km of your home, of course.)

As promised, your homework for the coming week has been uploaded today.
You can find your work on the Aladdin app that your parents have OR you can view it  in the "Homework" section of this blog too.

If you are really proud of any projects, writing, baking, gardening work etc. that you have been working on lately, please e-mail me pictures of this work at 6thdonacarney@gmail.com.
I can upload your pictures to the gallery section of this blog so that we can all see what each other have been up to. It would be a great way of trying to stay connected with each other and learn from each other too. Some of you might not want your work to appear on the blog and that is completely fine too. Email the work to me and I can correct it anyway.

Likewise, if you have any questions or queries about your work, please send me an e-mail on the above address and I'll help as best I can. It would be great to hear from you.

Looking forward to seeing you all again soon,
Stay safe,
Ms. McBride.

The aim of this blog is to provide parents and pupils with information regarding school events and news. It is also a platform for the boys to show-case their work and the learning that is taking place in the classroom setting. We hope you enjoy!
